Film Noir

Lighting:
Lighting in film noir tends to be quite extreme, there seems to be an extreme emphasis on adding more contrast between light and dark e.g. 



This was most likely done in order to make the main figures seem more glamorous and attractive.



While This scene does not necessarily follow the same lighting as the above images, the scene does still demonstrate extreme lighting to an extent due to the black and white colouration. The scene fits the typical conventions of a film noir film, the most obvious being the black and white colouration, the male lead and his attire are also quite common conventions of a classic noir film.

Costume : The characters within the frame are all wearing either linen cloth or armour, this shows two things, first that the main characters are from a medieval era, most movies from a different genre or time zone would generally not use this style of dressing. Their costumes also show that they are prepared or preparing for physical conflict, something that is common in these kinds of movies. Lighting : The scene uses low key lighting , this creates an ominous and serious tone within the frame, the use of backlights along with the angle in which the shot was taken shows the viewers that something intimidating and dangerous is coming. Mise-en-scene Coursework

Costume: The costume will be pretty basic, but effort will be made to have most of the main characters wearing pretty much the same colour range of black, grays, whites, reds and dark greens. The main characters (me) will be wearing a long coat for most of the shots a long with a black jumper for most of the shots. The most defining item will be the black mask the main villain will be wearing for most of the shots in the trailer. Other than that the costume will remain quite normal. Lighting: The lighting will be mostly natural lighting.
